September 21, 2026
As Director, Finance Transformation at Incap, Mette Palmen is responsible for driving the development of the Group Finance function and ensuring that finance processes, systems and data capabilities evolve in line with the company’s growth. Through her work, she helps build a strong foundation for data-driven decision-making, efficient financial reporting and scalable finance operations across the global Incap organisation.
Mette brings more than 15 years of experience in Group Finance, having built her career around financial reporting, performance management and finance transformation. Throughout her professional journey, she has been driven by a strong belief that sustainable business performance is created through the right combination of efficient processes, effective tools and empowered people. This mindset has shaped her approach to leadership and development projects alike, making continuous improvement a recurring theme throughout her career.
Building expertise in finance development
Over the years, Mette has developed extensive expertise in finance transformation alongside her work in financial reporting and performance management. She has led numerous development initiatives aimed at improving finance processes, systems and organisational capabilities, including the successful implementation of four consolidation systems. Through these experiences, she has gained a strong understanding of how finance functions can combine technology, high-quality data and efficient ways of working to create long-term value for the business.
The opportunity to join Incap appealed to Mette because of the company’s entrepreneurial culture, international environment and strong growth trajectory. She saw the role as a unique opportunity to contribute her experience in finance transformation while helping to build a future-ready finance function capable of supporting Incap’s continued expansion and long-term success. The combination of strategic development work and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the global organisation made the role a natural fit for her professional ambitions and interests.
Shaping the future of group finance
Today, Mette is responsible for the Group Finance Development Roadmap, overseeing initiatives that support the ongoing evolution of finance processes and systems throughout the organisation. Her work focuses on identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, transparency and data quality while ensuring that finance capabilities continue to meet the needs of a growing international business.
Among the most significant projects currently on her agenda are the Datamökki data lake initiative and the implementation of a new Group consolidation tool. Both projects play an important role in strengthening Incap’s data and reporting capabilities. By creating better access to information and improving the quality and consistency of financial data, these initiatives support more informed decision-making and help establish a strong foundation for future development.
People at the heart of change
What Mette enjoys most about working at Incap is the people. She thrives in positive, growth-oriented environments where development is encouraged and where colleagues work together to find solutions and drive progress. As an outgoing and collaborative person, she enjoys building relationships across functions and locations, learning from others and contributing to a culture where knowledge sharing and teamwork are valued.
For Mette, successful transformation is not only about systems, processes or technology. Equally important is the human side of change. One of the achievements she is most proud of is leading development initiatives that have helped teams adopt new ways of working and embrace change with confidence. Seeing people move from initial uncertainty to genuine enthusiasm as improvements begin to deliver results is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.
She is also proud of the leadership skills she has developed throughout her career, particularly when working with multicultural teams in fast-paced and continuously evolving environments. Building trust, encouraging collaboration and creating alignment across different cultures and perspectives have been important factors in helping teams succeed and deliver lasting results.
Beyond the office
Outside work, Mette enjoys pursuing projects that allow her to combine creativity with practical problem-solving. Most recently, she purchased an allotment garden cottage in Helsinki and has spent much of her free time renovating and transforming the property. She also enjoys reading, singing and staying active through yoga, tennis and gym training.
We are proud to have Mette on our team and grateful for the expertise, energy and dedication she brings to Incap. Her passion for continuous improvement, combined with her extensive experience in finance transformation and her people-focused approach to leadership, makes her an important contributor to the future development of Incap’s global finance organisation.
