Intelligent DC systems for electromobility, industrial automation, and renewable energy.

The electrification of industry, transport, and energy infrastructure is one of the defining technical transitions of this decade. At its core, that transition depends on power electronics: the ability to convert, manage, and control DC voltage efficiently, reliably, and safely across a growing range of applications — from onboard EV charging and industrial UPS systems to hydrogen electrolysis, intralogistics automation, and renewable energy storage.

  • Solutions aligned with product-specific requirements

Power electronics within Incap’s broader offer

Power electronics solutions at Incap are available as part of a complete design-to-production partnership — integrated with Incap’s hardware and software development, industrial engineering, and global manufacturing capabilities — or as a focused standalone engagement for customers with a specific power conversion requirement.

For customers at an earlier stage of product development, Incap’s design and engineering capability can support the broader system architecture within which power electronics solutions sit — covering embedded systems, IIoT integration, hardware design, and NPI.

Key design parameters

For every power electronics development, the following parameters are evaluated and balanced from the outset:

  • Efficiency — minimising conversion losses across the operating range

  • Required power — matching the solution to the application load profile

  • Galvanic isolation — ensuring electrical safety between circuits

  • Physical dimensions — designing for the space constraints of the target environment

  • Cost framework — balancing performance, features, and commercial viability

Low-coltage DC-DC converters

Bidirectional, highly efficient — 1 kW to 8 kW

A modular LV DC-DC converter platform covering a broad power range, with bidirectional energy flow, recuperation capability, and a fully user-configurable CAN bus interface. Conversion efficiency reaches up to 98.5%, with full 100% duty cycle operation supported.

The bidirectional architecture enables energy to be recovered during braking or discharging processes and returned to the battery or storage system — improving overall system energy efficiency in applications such as AGVs, AMRs, and electrolysis systems.

Typical applications: Intralogistics automation (AGV/AMR), hydrogen electrolysis, electric agricultural and municipal vehicles, industrial energy management.

Key technical features

  • Power range: 1–8 kW

  • Input: 30–80 VDC, Output: 0–80 VDC (customisable)

  • Communication interfaces: CAN, LIN, Modbus, RS232

  • Additional 24 VDC / 150 W auxiliary output

  • Bidirectional — recuperation and charging function

  • Peak efficiency: up to 98.5%

  • 100% duty cycle capability

High-voltage DC-DC converters

400 V / 800 V — scalable from 1 kW to 10 kW

High-voltage DC-DC converters for applications requiring reliable and efficient conversion of high DC voltages — covering electromobility, DC grid integration, renewable energy storage, and industrial high-voltage systems.

A modular hardware and software architecture enables rapid adaptation to individual application requirements — avoiding full redesign while still delivering a customer-specific solution.

Typical applications: Electromobility (onboard HV/LV conversion), DC grid power supply, renewable energy (solar, wind, hydrogen), aerospace, medical technology.

Key technical features

  • Power scalable via modules: 1 kW up to 10 kW

  • HV-side nominal voltage: 400 VDC, 800 VDC

  • Wide-range variants: 260–440 VDC, 400–900 VDC

  • LV-side output: 12 VDC, 24 VDC, 48 VDC

  • Communication interfaces: CAN, Modbus, RS232

  • Input overvoltage protection filter and HV Interlock

  • Configurable digital I/Os

  • Customer-specific software: charging processes, impedance measurement, derating behaviour, input current limiting

Charging technology & battery management

Gentle, effective, and energy-efficient — 12 V to 1,000 VDC

Intelligent charging solutions for battery packs across a wide voltage range, covering all major cell chemistries and application environments. The right charging profile is critical to battery service life, safety, and system performance — and solutions are configured specifically for the application rather than applying a one-size-fits-all algorithm.

Key technical features

  • Application-specific charging algorithms matched to cell chemistry (Li-ion, NiMH, lead-acid, supercapacitor)

  • Communication interfaces: CAN, Modbus, I2C, Ethernet

  • Terminal voltage measurement with cable resistance compensation — reducing charge time and improving state-of-charge accuracy

  • Impedance measurement for early detection of connection faults, cable degradation, and cell damage

  • Real-time monitoring of voltage, current, temperature, and state of charge

  • Protection: overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit, and thermal

Application environments

Onboard EV Charging — Compact, thermally managed designs for 200–800 VDC vehicle battery architectures, with CAN/Ethernet integration into the vehicle communication system and full automotive safety protection.

Industrial UPS Systems — High-capacity chargers for large battery banks, with cell-chemistry-specific algorithms, advanced health monitoring, and modular/redundant configurations for maximum availability.
