Electronics manufacturing for electricity, gas, water, and heat metering systems.
Incap manufactures electronics for metering and smart metering applications, covering electricity, gas, water, and heat meters as well as submetering devices and data concentrators. The scope includes PCB assemblies, communication modules, power supply boards, control electronics, and complete box-build assemblies for both residential and industrial metering applications.
Metering electronics have a specific set of demands that set them apart from general industrial electronics. Devices are deployed in large numbers across diverse environments, from indoor residential installations to outdoor and basement locations exposed to temperature extremes, moisture, and vibration. They are expected to operate accurately and without maintenance for years, often in locations where access for repair or replacement is difficult and costly.
What Incap builds in this sector
Products range from compact, battery-powered single-phase residential meters through to three-phase industrial meters with integrated communication and control functions. Submetering devices for multi-dwelling buildings and commercial properties, data concentrators for AMI infrastructure, and in-building energy monitoring modules are also within scope.

Manufacturing for long-life field deployment
Metering products need to be built right the first time. Once deployed, access for repair or replacement is expensive and disruptive. Solder joint integrity, robust component mounting, and careful PCB layout choices all contribute to a product that stays accurate and reliable through years of thermal cycling, vibration, and environmental exposure.
Where applications require it, conformal coating and encapsulation protect assemblies against humidity, contamination, and corrosive conditions. Test strategies are aligned with the product’s critical functions, covering measurement accuracy, communication reliability, and power supply performance. Burn-in and environmental stress testing can be included where the project requires it.
From development to long-term product support
Metering platforms often have long deployment cycles and are subject to regional regulatory requirements that evolve over time. Early engineering involvement at the NPI stage helps align the design with production and test requirements before tooling is committed. Over the product lifecycle, component obsolescence management and controlled engineering changes keep platforms technically viable as component availability and regulations change.
Accuracy begins in manufacturing
A metering device that passes calibration at the factory but drifts in the field is a product and a business problem. The manufacturing decisions that determine long-term accuracy, from solder joint quality and component selection to protection processes and test coverage, are made during production, not after deployment. Incap’s experience across metering and monitoring applications is built around getting those decisions right at the production stage.
Relevant certifications
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 cover quality and environmental management across Incap’s sites. The MID (Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU) is the relevant European metrological certification framework for electricity, gas, water, and heat meters. Products can be manufactured to support MID compliance and other market-specific requirements, including CE marking and regional standards where applicable.
