Full-service charging stations – calibrated.

An effortless charging experience at everyone’s reach. Qwello is an innovative, full service public charging operator with a vision to create easy access and easy to use solutions to contribute to an enhanced new urban eMobility.

Together with Incap they seek to transform today’s electric vehicle lifestyle. Leaving behind the complexities from today, creating space for efficient and effortless e-mobility.

Manufacturing compliant charging stations, at municipal scale.

For Qwello, Incap Electronics Germany (formerly Lacon) runs full-service production of public EV charging stations and carried the manufacturing site through Module D conformity assessment — the calibration-law certification public charging hardware needs before it can bill a driver by the kWh.

Powering Qwello

  • Module D: Conformity assessment achieved with VDE & NMi

  • 6 out of 6 production stages handled in-house, design to delivery

  • 2014/94/EU directive governing calibration-compliant charging

  • Sector E-mobility · municipal charging

What Qwello was solving for
Scaling a municipal network without a compliance bottleneck

  • Every public station needs Module D-certified production — not a one-off type approval, but an ongoing conformity-assessed manufacturing process.

  • Municipal rollouts move on tender timelines; a certification gap at the factory stalls every city waiting on hardware.

  • Charging stations combine power electronics, metrology and a public-facing display — three disciplines that usually sit with three different suppliers.

  • Domestic, traceable production in Germany was a stated requirement, not a nice-to-have, for public-sector buyers.

What Incap solved
One EMS partner, certified where it counts

  • Incap Electronics Germany worked directly with certification bodies VDE and NMi to bring the Karlsfeld site through Module D assessment.

  • The same quality management system that supports the site’s ISO and industry certifications was extended to cover calibration-law requirements.

  • Design, PCB and display production, assembly and testing stay under one roof — and one quality record.

  • Module D status, once achieved, carries forward: the site has now certified production for three customers, Qwello among them.

D(r)ive into the E-Charging experience

Qwello brings together its own charging hardware, software, payment processing, operation, maintenance, and support into one coordinated charging solution. Incap is proud EMS-partner for Qwello, making products become reality.

What full-service production covers for Qwello’s stations

Incap Electronics Germany owns every stage between Qwello’s design intent and a charging station ready to go in the ground — the same production model as the site’s Module D certification, applied end to end.

What is Module D certification

why does a charging-station factory need it?

Incap Electronics Germany owns every stage between Qwello’s design intent and a charging station ready to go in the ground — the same production model as the site’s Module D certification, applied end to end.

Certifications the customer never has to chase.

Compliance & Quality are strictly followed with all necessary regulations. Module D sits alongside the site’s existing quality and industry certifications — the same management system, extended to cover calibration law rather than run as a separate program.

Module D conformity assessment

Achieved with certification bodies VDE and NMi; now in place for three customers’ production, including Qwello.

Directive 2014/94/EU

The EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure directive is the regulatory root of Germany’s Eichrecht requirement for billed public charging.

One quality management system

Calibration-law compliance is layered onto the same QMS that already underpins the site’s other certifications.

The network this manufacturing foundation supports.

These figures describe Qwello’s business today, not units shipped from Incap — they’re the scale of demand that certified, full-service production has to keep up with.

Network and tender figures are drawn from Qwello’s public announcements and municipal press coverage; they describe Qwello’s overall business, not the specific volume produced at the Munich site.

Stockholm/Sweden

Together with Swedish grid operator Ellevio (“Från idé till 150 laddgator på rekordtid” — roughly 150 charging streets built out fast together with Qwello’s Ellevio Smart Laddinfra concept).

Hamburg/Germany

Qwello won its lot in a five-lot, Europe-wide tender covering 2,500 charging points — 500 of them Qwello’s, installing by mid-2027 for an eight-year operating term.

North Holland/Netherlands

MRA-E tender — a 10-year regional concession to install up to 1,000 charging points across 45 parking garages in eight municipalities: Almere, Dijk en Waard, Haarlem, Haarlemmermeer, Lelystad, Veenendaal, Woerden, and Zandvoort.

Qwello: Powering the future

A Munich-based operator that finances, installs and runs public charging infrastructure for cities on a concession model — hardware, software, financing and operations from one contract, funded by private capital rather than municipal budgets, and billed on certified green electricity.
