Meet Krister Aleks Kasemaa – Process Engineer at Incap Estonia
Let’s introduce Krister Aleks Kasemaa, a valued Process Engineer at Incap Estonia. Krister is responsible for keeping our production processes running smoothly and continuously improving them. Here’s a closer look at his background, his work, and what he enjoys outside the office.
Krister’s career path took an interesting turn when he decided to shift from working as a mail carrier at Omniva in Tartu to pursuing a more technically demanding profession. Driven by a desire to challenge himself, he enrolled in the Estonian University of Life Sciences to study Technotronics. As part of his studies, Krister completed two internships at Incap, which set the foundation for his future in engineering.
After spending several years in Tartu, Krister found himself longing for the slower pace of his hometown, Kuressaare, especially outside of the bustling tourist season. When a job opportunity at Incap came up, Krister decided to take it.
As a Process Engineer, Krister is responsible for optimising production processes by evaluating the effectiveness of current methods and tools. If there are areas for improvement, he seeks solutions and always involves the people doing the actual work to ensure any changes are practical and efficient. “I never blindly impose new techniques based on theory alone,” he says.
One of Krister’s notable achievements during his internship was writing several safety guidelines and helping to map client assets, a process that he’s happy to see is still in use today.
Krister appreciates the open communication within the team at Incap Estonia. “You can talk about work matters clearly and without beating around the bush, and during breaks, we often have a good laugh together,” he says.
When he’s not improving processes at Incap, Krister is an active member of the music community. He spent the last two years singing bass in the mixed choir Causa Amoris in Tartu, and recently joined the Saaremaa Men’s Choir, SÜM. In his spare time, he enjoys the relaxing yet competitive sport of disc golf, as well as spending time on home improvement projects.
Although much of his free time is focused on household tasks, Krister still enjoys weekends in Tartu, catching up with friends he’s made during his nine years in the city.
We’ve been pleased to see Krister’s journey from intern to a valuable member of the team, and we look forward to his continued contributions at Incap Estonia!
