Meet Michael Barker, a valued member of the Incap UK Fast Track team
Michael’s journey with us began back in 2018. Before joining our team, worked as a camera repair technician in the building across the street from our factory. Little did he know, this twist of fate would lead to a new career opportunity at Incap UK.
Although Michael started in the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) setup, he quickly joined the Fast Track team and transitioned to the role of Materials Controller within a couple of weeks. In this role, he learned how to recognise more types of components and understand the processes used within Fast Track.
As time passed, Michael took on more responsibilities, including occasional purchasing tasks. By 2020, he became a buyer. In 2022, when another role became vacant, Michael got an opportunity to grow. He became the Fast Track’s Senior Quotations Coordinator, which allowed him to further demonstrate his skills and leadership qualities within the team.
Besides work, Michael is part of the staff council as of 2023, where he actively engages in discussions about company concerns and represents the interests of the Fast Track team.
Outside of the office, Michael has many hobbies. He finds joy in reading and indulges in his passion for collecting and listening to records, especially progressive rock. Michael also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Nat, and their dog, Cedric. A few times a year, Michael visits his hometown of Essex to reconnect with family and friends, remember old times and make new memories.
