Introducing our Program Engineer: Alicia Kelley at Incap US!
Let’s meet one of our team members from Incap US! Alicia Kelley is our Program Engineer. Read more about her background, journey at Incap, and other interesting facts!
As a Program Engineer, Alicia plays a crucial role in managing one of our newer customers, Industrial Scientific. Her expertise and dedication have been instrumental in a successful transfer project with them, working on new product prototypes and ensuring quality and customer requirements are met.
Alicia’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics from Pennsylvania State University, where she excelled academically and even provided peer tutoring for calculus, physics, and other subjects. During her time at university, she gained valuable practical experience as a Manufacturing Co/Op at Advanced Acoustic Concepts, where she worked part-time and completed several summer internships.
Her journey with Incap US began while Alicia was job searching before her college graduation. Being close to her family was important to her, and Incap US (then known as Pennatronics) offered the perfect opportunity. After submitting her resume through the website, she was soon contacted and started her career at Incap just two weeks after graduating.
At Incap, Alicia’s main responsibilities revolve around managing the Industrial Scientific project, overseeing new product development and prototypes. Her day-to-day activities involve creating part numbers, entering Bill of Materials (BOMs), developing manufacturing instructions, ordering stencils, programming SMT SPI and placement machines, and ensuring quality and customer requirements are met during production.
What Alicia appreciates the most about working at Incap is the abundance of learning opportunities and the chance to travel. In her first year alone, she immersed herself in the industry, attending an expo in Chicago, and the next year she visited an expo in San Diego. She even achieved certification in SMT Processes through SMTA in Minneapolis. Alicia continues to expand her knowledge by attending webinars, reading articles and research papers, and collaborating with colleagues.
Beyond work, Alicia enjoys a variety of hobbies during her free time. She likes listening to music, reading, biking, completing puzzles, and playing both board and video games. Additionally, she has a passion for travelling and discovering new places.
To further enhance her leadership skills, Alicia is currently participating in a Women’s Leadership course offered by Catalyst Connections. The course focuses on developing leadership qualities and empowering women to become leaders in their respective fields. Alicia’s decision to take this course stemmed from her desire to learn and apply these qualities in her current role. The course covers a range of topics, including conflict resolution, effective communication, and self-advocacy. Alicia is also working on a project outside of the course that applies human-centred design methods to resolve workplace challenges.
We are truly fortunate to have Alicia as part of our team at Incap US! Her thirst for knowledge, dedication to excellence, and commitment to personal growth make her an invaluable asset.
