Investing in growth through learning: Introducing Rose Keffer as Training & Development Specialist at Incap US
Training and professional growth have always been central to Incap’s culture, and this year, Incap US took an important step forward by creating a new role fully dedicated to developing people’s skills and supporting continuous learning. Rose Keffer, who has been part of the team for 18 years, recently stepped into the position of Training & Development Specialist to lead these efforts.
According to David Spehar, Managing Director at Incap US, the creation of this role reflects the company’s long-term commitment to people and innovation. “We created the dedicated training role because we are in a fast-moving industry where technology continues to evolve,” he said. “We want to empower our company members with skills to keep up and be at the forefront of the innovation coming out of our industry. Our vision is to build a workforce that not only meets the demands of advanced manufacturing, but enables us to succeed in providing our customers with world-class products. Investing in people is the most strategic decision a business can make.”
Julie Klorczyk, Human Resources Manager, added that Rose was the ideal choice for the role. “Rose was chosen for this position due to her extensive industry experience, her thorough understanding of Incap’s processes and procedures, and her strong motivation to support both the company and its employees in achieving success,” she said.
Rose’s long and varied experience gives her a deep understanding of Incap US operations.
“I started as a Production Supervisor and worked in all departments over a 10-year time frame, learning processes and working with the teams to achieve goals set for quality and on-time delivery,” she said. “I later became a Program Manager, then moved into scheduling and customer support before taking on this new challenge in training.”
Although the position is new, Rose sees great potential to build on what already exists. “I will be further developing existing training to enhance and prove our commitments to improving quality and individual skill sets,” she explained. “We are also looking into continuing education for all levels of our staff.”
According to Rose, one of the main goals is to strengthen onboarding so that newcomers feel confident and ready from day one. “We want people to feel knowledgeable and ready to begin their career here at Incap US. We’re also focusing on better communication of training initiatives and documenting them for future reference,” she said.
To identify training needs, Rose works closely with the quality department and attends regular quality meetings. “This helps me see if any issues are training-related,” she noted. “I also explore basic and advanced training options for engineering and management levels to make sure we comply with ISO certifications.”
At Incap US, training comes in many forms – from hands-on learning to mentoring and digital tools. “Primarily we are an on-the-job training facility for production with a mentor or team lead overseeing the process,” Rose said. “I plan to add more in-person learning for new processes before the on-the-job part begins. We also have a training matrix to help everyone track their progress and see what training they need.”
Rose believes that continuous learning plays a key role in the company’s long-term success. By strengthening the training program, she aims to help team members feel better prepared for their roles and more engaged in improving processes and results across the organisation.
Right now, Rose is focusing on upgrading both the onboarding process and the learning environment. “We’re evaluating our current LMS system and looking into an upgrade. We’re also improving our training room to make it brighter and more inviting,” she shared.
When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Rose said she loves learning new things and working closely with others to help them grow and build a better work environment.
