Meet the team: Operations manager Richard Ciernik from Incap Slovakia
Let’s meet one of our team members from Incap Slovakia! Richard Čiernik is our Operations Manager at the factory in Slovakia.
We are excited to introduce our team members from different factories and this time we are introducing Richard from Slovakia! He is responsible for ensuring that all operations run appropriately and in a cost-effective way, improving operational processes, ensuring quality control, monitoring production KPI, and training and supervising production staff.
Richard finished his studies at the Technical University in Bratislava as an engineer. After his studies Richard worked as a process engineer and a project manager. From 2007 he started working for a automotive tier 1 supplier, where he passed several positions from project management, manufacturing engineering manager, continuous improvement manager and last year as operation manager. “Time in automotive was hard, but gave me a very solid base in operational excellence. Experience with all kinds of tools such as six sigma, quality tools and best business practices changed my view on production,” added Richard.
He found his way to Incap through his boss Miroslav Michálik. “We were working together several years in automotive in the past and in May 2020 I decided to leave automotive and at that time Incap was looking for an operations manager. From September 2020 I have been on the Incap board and I’m still smiling. I really like this position. My leadership ability and communication skills are tested daily and I’m learning a lot each day which is great for my growth,” said Richard.
“In September 2020 when I started, my first activities were to bring new visual improvements, to showcase the Incap brand and improve overall cleanliness. We moved in the right direction and after covid we have had more visits to the plant. All the guests appreciate cleanliness, floor visual management, and organisation in the shop floor. Now it is time to continue with technology modernization and maximising capacity utilisation. Our goal is to be more efficient with the same amount of people,” added Richard.
Richard is very family oriented. He has 5 kids, which is fantastic for a wide range of activities. “We are doing a lot of sports, ski-alps, ice hockey, swimming, cycling, and tourism in the mountains. I also like gardening. Let’s see if I will start with beekeeping this year.”
We are happy to have you in our team, Richard!
