As Managing Director Operations of Incap Electronics Germany, Afrem Alfia plays a key role in shaping the company’s operational performance and future development. With responsibility for production, logistics, quality, and engineering, he oversees the core operational functions that enable Incap Germany to deliver reliable, high-quality electronics manufacturing solutions while continuously strengthening its competitiveness in a rapidly evolving industry.

Afrem’s career began at the University of Stuttgart, where he studied Technology Management and graduated with a degree in engineering. He started his professional journey in quality management, gaining a strong understanding of operational excellence, processes, and the importance of consistently high standards. He later moved into the role of Executive Assistant to a Chief Operating Officer, which gave him valuable insight into strategic decision-making and the management of complex operational organisations.

From there, Afrem progressed into senior leadership roles, serving as Director of Operations at two major technology companies before joining the former Lacon Group. Having been part of the company’s journey since 2011, he went on to become Chief Operating Officer of Lacon Group and today serves as Managing Director Operations of Incap Electronics Germany. Over the years, he has combined technical expertise, operational leadership, and a strong understanding of people and organisations to support the company through continuous development and change.

Today, Afrem’s responsibilities extend far beyond managing day-to-day operations. Alongside overseeing production, logistics, quality, and engineering, he keeps a close eye on the long-term competitiveness of the business and on how Incap Germany can continue to build a sustainable advantage in the EMS industry. For him, operational excellence is not only about efficient processes and advanced technologies. It is also about understanding people, bringing together the right teams, and creating an environment in which employees can realise their potential and perform at their best.

A central part of Afrem’s leadership approach is therefore the combination of people and technology. He believes that strong performance comes from enabling employees to use their individual strengths while supporting them with the right processes, tools, and technologies. Since the former Lacon Group became part of Incap, Afrem’s daily work has gained an even stronger international dimension. Collaboration with Managing Directors and colleagues across the global organisation has opened up new opportunities for exchange, knowledge transfer, and shared learning. He particularly values the opportunity to discuss operational topics with international colleagues as peers, exchange best practices, and learn from the experience available across different Incap locations.

What stands out to Afrem is how naturally this collaboration works across borders. Despite different countries, cultures, and local environments, colleagues across Incap share a common understanding of the EMS industry and many of the opportunities and challenges that come with it. This shared professional language creates a strong basis for open dialogue, practical knowledge exchange, and the development of solutions that benefit the wider organisation.

Looking back on his career, Afrem takes particular pride in having accompanied the company’s development since 2011 and in helping to take the former Lacon business to its next stage as part of Incap. For him, becoming part of an international electronics manufacturing group represents an important next step in this journey, opening up new opportunities for development, collaboration, and growth. He sees significant potential for Incap Germany within the EMS market and looks forward to contributing to the company’s continued progress in the years ahead.

Away from work, Afrem enjoys spending time with his family, staying active through sport, and taking on hands-on projects of his own. He appreciates physical challenges and the satisfaction that comes from creating, building, and solving practical problems. This hands-on mindset reflects the same curiosity, determination, and drive for progress that he brings to his professional role.
