Incap teams reflect on their visit to Electronica 2024
The Electronica fair, held biennially in Munich, Germany, is one of the world’s largest trade shows for the electronics industry, bringing together innovators, suppliers, and key players to network and discuss the latest trends. This year, several members of the Incap team participated in the event, using the opportunity to foster relationships, explore new technologies, and showcase Incap’s expertise on a global stage. Here’s what they had to share about their experiences.
For Tiit Priske, Business Development Manager at Incap Estonia, the visit was particularly impactful. Representing Incap Estonia as part of the Trade with Estonia stand, Tiit shared that the primary goal of his participation was to enhance Incap’s visibility and connect with both potential and existing clients. He highlighted the benefits of the shared booth format, which he found very effective and well-suited for Incap.
Reflecting on his impressions, Tiit remarked, “This fair is incredibly important for us to observe the direction of the electronics industry and technology developments. It’s also a unique opportunity to understand the investment plans and broader strategies of potential clients, including the factors influencing their business, such as political situations and crises.”
One of the standout moments for Tiit was the growing recognition of Incap in the industry. “Several companies, who we had not worked with before, had already done their homework on us and came to meet us directly. This indicates that Incap’s visibility is increasing, and we’re moving toward a position where clients approach us, rather than the other way around,” he noted.
Tiit also valued the chance to meet representatives from Incap’s other factories, saying, “It’s amazing to see ambitious teams in other countries working toward the same goals. We shared experiences, spent some time together.” Additionally, the fair facilitated productive meetings with both current and prospective clients, showing their commitment by taking the initiative to meet in person.
For Jan Moravcik, Purchasing Supervisor at Incap Slovakia, this was his second time attending Electronica, while it marked a first for his team members. Their visit was focused on conducting business reviews with suppliers, sourcing opportunities, and connecting with potential customers. Jan described the event as “incredibly well-organized and truly massive,” a confirmation to its reputation in the industry. He also highlighted the Incap booth as a standout feature of the fair, underscoring its value in representing the company on a global stage. Reflecting on his experience, Jan noted that the event opened the door to numerous cost-saving and new business opportunities for the coming year.
For David Spehar, Managing Director of Incap US, the Electronica fair was his first, and it left a lasting impression. His primary goal was to engage with an important customer, meet suppliers, and immerse himself in the industry’s latest developments. David appreciated the fair as an excellent opportunity to meet key suppliers and observe the dynamic changes within the electronics sector. A particularly meaningful highlight for him was the chance to meet team members from Incap Estonia and Slovakia. He reflected on the exciting industry developments and expressed gratitude for the privilege of working alongside talented colleagues.
Holly Berish, Program and Purchasing Manager at Incap US, also experienced Electronica for the first time, finding it invaluable for networking on a global scale. Her focus was on strengthening existing partnerships while exploring new supplier opportunities. Holly emphasised the fair’s role as a hub for learning about industry trends, describing it as a must-attend event for those seeking to enhance their supply base.
She highlighted several standout moments, including professional forum discussions such as “Women in Tech: Leadership Best Practices” and a thought-provoking talk by Otto Pukk and Margus Jakobson on ESG’s role in the EMS industry. Holly was particularly impressed by the attentiveness and hospitality of suppliers, as well as the fun addition of Incap Estonia’s racecar simulator.
